City streets, plazas, waterfront promenades and mixed-use developments need public toilets that function as part of the public realm. The unit must fit the available footprint, connect safely to utilities, maintain clear pedestrian movement and present an exterior suitable for the surrounding development.

This application combines a factory-built public toilet module with a site-specific façade and, where required, selected smart functions. Standard, accessible or family compartments can be considered within the available space. Occupancy indication, service alerts or digital information should be included only when they support the operator's actual requirements.

Problems This Solution Addresses

  • Adds public toilet capacity to dense urban sites where conventional building work is difficult.
  • Coordinates the external appearance with nearby buildings, paving, signage and public-realm standards.
  • Plans entrances and queues to avoid obstructing pedestrian or accessible routes.
  • Allows selected smart functions to be integrated with the module and utilities.
  • Provides defined access for cleaning, consumables and technical service.

How the Solution Is Planned

Provide a site plan, streetscape drawings or photographs, pedestrian-flow information, required compartments, accessibility criteria, façade requirements, available utilities, service access and authority requirements. Identify any smart functions and the party responsible for data connectivity.

The final footprint, elevations, internal layout, signage, lighting, ventilation, smart scope, civil works and installation responsibilities must be approved before production.
